Happy Christmas

On behalf of Tallow GAA club we wish all our players, members, friends and supporters a very happy and peaceful Christmas. Our thoughts and prayers are also with relatives and friends of all those connected to the club who passed away during the year. We would also like to thank our players, mentors, officials and sponsors for their efforts and support throughout the year.

We look back on a year of success both on and off the field with our senior and junior hurlers both reaching county finals and providing us with a magical and wondrous six weeks from early September to the middle of October as people spent their weeks reflecting on the last match and making plans for the next one. While both finals ended in defeat we would do well to remember the Ben Hogan quote 'As you walk the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round'. The journey to and the stories that accompanied our road to the finals will be reflected upon for many years. It is the nature of sport though that every river has to start as a stream again the following season and we wish our teams every luck and success for 2012.

We also look back on a hugely successful opening of Pairc Eamonn de Paor last May when we had the All Ireland champions showing their power and class in our own back yard. We had the unveiling of the statue of Eamonn de Paor by Uachtarain CLG Christy Cooney on the same day which was brilliantly organised and smoothly run and the statue at its beautiful present location is a marvellous addition to our town and community.
