Munster Championship

Well done to our Waterford contingent of Aidan Kearney, Paul O Brien and Thomas Ryan who were heroic in their contribution to Waterford's victory over Clare at the weekend. It was a game that was approached with some trepidation by most Waterford people with talk of a Clare resurgence and memories of a difficult league campaign. The attendance of twelve thousand was the least surprising aspect of the day (we're nearly back to 1992 levels at this stage for the Munster Championship) but those who were there saw an exciting game with a thrilling finish. The performance of our debutants was very encouraging and with some of the old stagers doing their stuff it was enough to see us to the final bell. We'll look forward to a Munster final where a low-key build-up and status of underdogs will do us no harm.

Senior Hurling

We play Mount Sion this Fiday evening 22nd June in our fourth match of the senior hurling championship. After our heavy defeat to De La Salle we need to get back on the horse and this is the oppurtunity to do so. The city club have a huge reputation and have historically been tough opponents for us and both teams need to win this match to have a chance of making the knockout stages. We wish our lads a bit of luck in running and throw-in at Fraher Field is at 7:30pm
