Best Wishes

Best wishes to our club vice-president Babs Mulcahy who is recovering well in hospital after a recent illness.

Senior Hurling

The senior hurling championship continues as before with two groups of six and the top four in each group making the quarter finals. We are in a group with Fourmilewater, De La Salle, Mount Sion, Dunhill and Roanmore. Again there is nothing easy in this group with three very established senior teams and two young, hungry and talented teams who are recently promoted. All games are to be played at neutral venues. It is hoped that, like last year, the first three games will be completed by mid-May (this should be possible as Waterford do not have a Munster first-round championship game to play) with the remaining two games to be played at oppurtune times over the summer before the start of the quarter finals

Junior Hurling

The relegation of Lismore from the intermediate ranks sees them join us in what is now a very competitive junior (senior attached) Western championship along with Fourmilewater, Ballyduff and Dungarvan. This was a highly competitive championship last year and even though we won it, it is difficult to recall a game that we won by more than a score or two. Lismore's second string team have been playing at a higher level for the last ten years and their addition to the junior ranks should bring a local flavour to clashes between the three teams of the far west. Each team will play each other once on a home and away basis with the top two teams qualifying for the Western final.
