Deise Draw

The Deise Draw has been revamped and improved this year with twenty five prizes on offer instead of the previous ten, ranging from a top prize of€10000 down to Azzuri Sports vouchers. In addition, a brand new Nissan Micra will be on offer in June as well as All Ireland hurling and football tickets. The first draw will take place on Friday 29th March in Ballygunner so we would appeal to all our loyal supporters to support our clubs efforts as this has always been a vital source of funding for our club. We realise that many Tallow people already support our Lotto with unbelievable generosity but we would ask once again for your kindness at €10 per month. David O Brien is our Deise Draw coordinator and tickets can be purchased through any committee member

National League

After the difficulties experienced by Waterford in the first three rounds last year it makes a pleasant surprise to see us sitting relatively comfortably in mid-table, almost free from relegation fears and with two home games to come. The presence of three new attackers (Dillion, O Halloran and Mahony, who missed a lot of last year) getting high-level game time is a welcome sight. While none of these on their own could be said to replace John Mullane or lead a forward line on their own, they all possess a bit of skill and craft and it means that teams who would have previously targeted Mullane will now have to play a more orthodox back six and leave forwards with more one-on-one chances. The continuing majesty of Brick at centre back warms the heart and the return of Shane O Sullivan somewhat negates the absence of Stephen Molumphy. Thankfully nobody is getting carried away but the signs are that we are competitive and there are some green shoots for the future.

Elsewhere I'd be doubtful that Tipp have gotten over 2011 yet while Clare and Limerick are fascinating projects. Look at a Clare forward line that would potentially have Tony Kelly, John Conlon, Conor Mc Grath and Colin Ryan and a Limerick forward line that could have Downes, Hannon, Mulcahy and Dowling and you'd struggle to find any other county with young forwards like those.
