Notaí CLG Tulach an Iarainn sponsored by McGrath's chemist.

Junior Hurling Championship : We played Ballyduff in Lismore on Wednesday at 7.30pm in our rearranged fixture.

Deise Super Draw : Well done to Timmy Sheehan who won a Supervalu voucher in the Deise Draw.

Senior Hurling League: The Semi Final of the league is on this coming Saturday at 7pm in Fraher Field and our opponents are De La Salle.

U20 Football : Best of luck to Eoin McGrath who is on the Waterford football panel for the Clare game this week. Correct me if I'm wrong on this but he is the first Tallow man to get onto a football underage panel since Jason Barry in 1996.

Pairc Eamonn De Paor: Fixture . Cois Bhride v Lismore U12 hurling division one 6.30pm 5th July.

Funding : Watching the Sunday game last week there was a debate on funding and what Dublin county board get in comparison to their counterparts in Leinster . It was said that population alone warranted such a funding but that doesn't hold up with their near neighbours showing significant increase in numbers but not in funding. The GAA hierarchy require to look at the overall spread of money towards the use of games development and coaching. Dublin are self sufficient with their own fundraising and sponsorship they get .While looking at the Dublin coaching model as a successful entity the near eighteen million they received between 2007 and 2017 pales in comparison to their nearest rival who got 1.4 million. Waterford garnered just under a million in the same time period but one could not envisage much money pumped into paying coaching officers when Walsh Park is under redevelopment .

We had the initiative Gaelfast which was to pump €1.16m into Belfast to increase Gaelic Games participation in the second largest city on the island. The figure is over a five year period . A figure as low as of 6% of all children is said to be playing Gaelic Games at school level in the city. While the 'Glens' keep hurling alive it would be great to see their city counterparts help out of the Saffrons in their current low standard. The GAA hierarchy need to address the imbalance of funds while the Dublin Strategic Review of 2002 needed funding, it has elevated them to their current status and no funding is no longer needed . It is up to the leaders to GAA to fairly review the other counties to complete at least with them on financial level with the GAA funding rather than arbitrarily favour their biggest cash cow.
