Vocabulary:

Social Media: Websites and application that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking.

Anonymity on the Internet:

Without a name. The internet makes it easy to create handles, avatars, or even a fictional persona. People do this for many reasons and it is both good and bad.Communication in the 21st Century: Computers connected to the internet, that fit in someone's pocket, provide continuous communication with others around the world. The type of communication varies depending on the program used and the reason for the communication. User Profiles give a name and in some cases, an image of the person communicating. Unlike interacting with people physical in your presence, there are differences. The Good: Ideas can reach anyone with access. Anonymity can protect those whose ideas are unpopular and allow them to be explored. No limit to who you can talk to and where or even how many. The Bad: Conversations can take all or very little of your attention, and can take minutes or days. It can stop and start with no apparent reason and gaps can range from seconds to weeks. Comments are made and never followed up on. This can make talking to people in real life difficult. The Ugly: Nameless and constant negativity. Ideas can be quickly dismissed or taken to heart. Deleting content gives a false notion that nothing is permanent. Incorrect information can be easily vied as true even after corrected after the fact.

Business and or Formal Letter: A written message or typed message that communicates ideas to a business. Ideas about being employed, product criticism or positive feedback. Social Media comments can be buried under a mountain of other comments and or just as easily ignored. You are making a presentation of ideas, not starting a conversation.
