Essential Question:

  • Why is it important to understand the basics of creating a word processing document?

  • Why is it important to be able to change margin sizes, styles, paragraph spacing, etc?

  • How can I document research and summarize the material in my own words?

1. Type your first and last name. Hit enter once.

2. Type Activity 4 and hit enter twice.

3. Insert a table that is 4X27

  • What you will learn:Changing font and size

  • Changing alignment

  • Using bold and underlining

  • Typing using word wrap (soft return)

4. Enter the data as shown:

5. Once you have entered all of the data into a Table, please make the following additions/changes:

Three numbers are in error and need to be corrected. Following are the correct numbers:

a. Barry Bonds career home runs should be 762, not 623.

b. Sammy Sosa career home runs should be 609, not 505.

c. Rafael Palmiero career home runs should be 569, not 500.

6. The age at which the last three players on the list hit their 500th home run is missing. Please research the internet to find the correct ages and fill them in the Table. Again, this should be how old they were when they hit their 500th home run.

7. Sort the players in the Table using the data in the “Career HR” column, so that the players are listed in order from most career home runs to least.

8. Shade the title row a color of your choice.

9. Shade the row of the column headings a color of your choice, but not the same color as the title.

Once you have made the above changes, type the answers to the following questions below the table. Number the answers 1-4. Only type the answers – do not type the questions.

1. Who was the first player in baseball to hit 500 home runs?

2. Who was the most recent player to join the 500 HR Club?

3. Who was the oldest player to hit his 500th home run?

4. There are 25 players in the 500 HR Club. How many are in the 600 HR Club?
