Learning Objectives:

    • Understand the format of scripts

    • Practice reading a script

    • Understand the process of reading a script.

Now that we have looked at and read scripts, let us pull up our KWL on your famous person. With your group, create a script where your group asks questions to one another and answers them. Your questions and answers come directly from your KWL. Make sure you have your two printed articles because your notes from those will be helpful. You will need to create a google dock and share it with your group members. You will need to type it there. Make sure all three of you have a fair share of lines in the script. You will know if its long enough when it takes one minute for the three of you to read it. IntroductionYou know who you are, your listeners may not. Make sure you introduce yourselves and the topic to your listeners. Content

When you listen to the radio and people are relaying information, an easy way to do this is to "ask questions." The person may know the answer and it may seem like an unnecessary question to ask but it does provide answers to questions the audience may have in their minds.

Closing

Make sure you end it the same way you depart from people, say goodbye. It should also point the audience to a source for more information related to the podcast. A podcast must use references, funding information, and copyrights where necessary. Don’t say you found your information on Google.

Write tight: In audio, you need to get to the point. Read and re-read your copy, eliminating redundancy. You can find shorter ways to say just about anything. Readers can skim the written article but must listen to the entire Podcast. Make it interesting.

Write for the ear and your tongue

The ear is much less forgiving of extra-long sentences and sentences that don't flow well. Keep it simple, remember that you'll be reading this, possibly when you are a bit nervous about your voice.

Expectations: The time it takes for you to read the script is key. Your recording needs to be between 3 to 5 minutes long. Make sure you introduce your selves and give a closing. I want to know whose voice I hear just by hearing the recording.
