Essential Question:

  • How do multimedia presentations demonstrate a clear sense of audience and purpose?

Learning Essential Questions:

  • What are some reasons professionals would use PowerPoint in their workplace?

  • What are some good techniques to follow when presenting using PowerPoint?

Project Details: You will create a Google Slides Presentation about yourself. Throughout the presentation, you will demonstrate your skills in creating a very detailed Slide Presentation. You will start by answering 15 questions about your self. You will create a slide for each for each question.

Final projects will be called Who We Are and shared into Haiku for grading.

You must have 15 slides as part of your presentation. A good way to pace your time is to complete two slides each day. As a result of being a Google Slide Presentation, you are expected to complete your slides in class or homework on your Chrome book if you need to. Even if you are absent, you are expected to keep up.

  • The first slide is your Title Slide. It has your name, grade, and school name.

  • The next 15 are you expressing your answer to the question.

  • The last slide is a wrap-up.

  • 17 Slides total!

I encourage you to explore themes, animations, transmissions, and the time between slides. I have an example that I show to the class. You have an entire class period to make two slides. Make them creative and don't rush.

Your Questions are:

1.What is your name?

2.When and where were you born?

3.What are my hobbies? (List all hobbies)

4.List three things you did this summer?

5.What is your favorite movie?

6.What is your favorite TV show?

7.Who is your favorite actor? (Write about the actor)

8.What is your favorite song?

9.What is your favorite band/group?

10.What is your favorite baseball team?

11.What is your favorite food?

12.What is your favorite subject?

13.Name three countries you would like to visit.

14.What are your aspirations?

15.What would you like to learn about in this class?

Here are some helpful tricks to help make your project along.

You can change your slide's layout:

You can insert various things such as pictures and boxes for your text:

You can copy pictures and paste them into your PowerPoint with right mouse toolbox:

You can animate an object such as a box of text and a picture. Make sure you have the object selected:

Create a Hyperlink: Click on the item or highlight the text.

Link what you highlighted to the URL of what you want to link.

How will I be graded?

1. You have 15 slides. You have an introduction slide and wrap up slide. Your PowerPoint has pictures and text for each of the questions answered expressed. Spell and grammar check with no errors.

2. You are missing information for each of the slides and don't have enough slides? Your Presentation has large pictures that go outside the slide area. Lack of spell check was shown. You were off task and didn't complete any work some of the class time.
