This is the second part of a two-part 7th Grade Product Compare PowerPoint. Half of your research and presentation was your ability to prepare for it. Before you even started to create slides, you need a plan. A Thesis statement was formed from your topic. You then located references to aid in your providing information. You now can create a presentation to prove your statement.
The topic of your project was:
The comparison of two like things. They can be commercial products, sports teams, video games, and food. You will need to provide background on your comparison, because your reader may not know what you’re talking about. You will then provide an opinion on which one is better. You will then provide three examples that support your opinion. These examples can be statistics, personal experience, or other constructive opinions regarding your comparison.
Directions
1. You will need to open your google doc in your Digital Literacy folder Product Compare
2. In this slideshow, you will continue to create your presentation. Here is a break down of what I expect your presentation or paper to look like.
First Slide: Thesis statement: You have this already
Second and Third Slide: Introduction. These slides, unlike your thesis, isn't general. You explain your topic, fully explain your opinion and list the evidence that supports. This builds background for people who don't know your topic. You are teaching your audience about what you are comparing.
Fourth and Fifth Slide: Details on Evidence 1: Using the information you gained from one of the two articles, you further support and give details regarding the first evidence listed in your thesis statement and your introduction.
Sixth and Seventh Slide: Details on Evidence 2: Using the information you gained from one of the two articles, you further support and give details regarding the second evidence listed in your thesis statement and your introduction.
Eighth and Ninth Slide: Details on Evidence 3: Using the information you gained from one of the two articles, you further support and give details regarding the third evidence listed in your thesis statement and your introduction.
Tenth Slide: Conclusion: You are giving a summary of what you have just presented. You are once again stating your opinion and how your three evidence supported your work.
Eleventh Slide: Work Citations: This is a page dedicated to the end of your research that lists the two articles you used in your research. You need to list the name of the article, the person who wrote it, and the URL of the webpage.
This becomes homework on your Chrome Book if not finished.
