How To Video Banana Bread

I can edit together a sequence of clips to inform an audience on how to perform a task.

I can shorten each clip as needed to best fit in a sequence of instructions

I can mute the audio when needed in video clips

I can incorporate music to add a dramatic feel.

Directions: You will be given access to a WeVideo Project with over 21 video clips that you will need to create and edit in WeVideo. You will need to create opening text and closing credits. Many of the clips have audio that isn't needed and is disruptive so you will need to edit the clips and remove the audio. The audio was more for reference in post-production like what you are doing and how much of any given ingredient is being shown. It may be possible to change the order around in showing the ingredients but when it comes to food preparation, the process follows a recipe and is unchanged.

List of Ingredients: This clip will need to be cut up and tightened up. The audience doesn't need to see 47 seconds of you showing off the ingredients. The 47-second clip should be broken up into the 8 ingredients being shown in rapid succession and should take half that time to present. The version I created as an example shows the ingredients in a little over 20 seconds.

Subtitles: As a result of the audio not being usable, this video will rely on subtitles to inform the audience. Notice in the Final Clip, the subtitles not only tell the amount and name of each ingredient but also explain the steps to bake the banana bread. You will need to create over 20 subtitle clips in your Video 2

Mute Audio:  When you want to mute the audio in a video clip. Click the clip and open the clip editor. Locate the volume tab and click the mute checkbox.

Clip Speed: Clicking the video clip and opening the clip editor on the far right is Slow / Fast Motion. Change the Value slide bar as desired. This is helpful to show something that is redundant in fast motions. Things like mixing the batter might be a good use of this.

Music: Music is a very powerful storytelling tool that also helps make your video more interesting. Especially if your audience has no voice to talk them through the process.

Disclaimer: A keen eye may notice I used powdered sugar and not standard sugar. Powdered sugar is used to make the frosting. The banana bread created in the video turned out fine but was soft and came apart more easily.
