Day 1 Agenda

  • Marketing: What makes your product better? Watch Introduction to marketing as a class

    • Present to the class, examples of what food-based companies employ in their marketing to make their product worth extra money.

Introduction to Final Project:

Your group will create a food menu. This menu needs to have the various cost of different types. Cost of items put into a combo and what they are. If and rays have possible extras, how much do they cost? If I want items removed, how much does it cost? Your cost should be based on restaurants in your area. Show pictures of what the food looks like.

Once all research and data is complete, begin working on how to present your information

  • Poster, Tri-Fold, Slide Show, etc.

  • Alternative: Tired of Pizza? Sandwich side and a drink? or Berger, fries and a drink?

    • Locate three fast food restaurants that serve similar food.

    • Evaluate the cost of a combo vs the cost of making it your own?

      • Sandwich with different size side from the size of the drink.

    • Explain how coupons save you money or cost more if you try to assemble a combo.

Day 2 Agenda

Create and present a food menu with prices for every item and combos.

Option 1: Main food, side, and drink option.

Create five main foods. These can be tacos, Burritos, Hamburgers, Fish, Gyro, and chicken sandwiches, or type of pasta. You then need three possible sides with three size options such as small, medium, and large. What drink options are there? Do I have small, medium and large options? You then need to create three combo meals. These combo meals don’t need to be slightly less than the cost of all three but it does help with sales.

Present: To the class a presentation or tri-fold display of your menu and explain the pricing of all your foods. Create a restaurant logo.

Option 2: Pizza

Create three sizes of pizza. Each size must have a base price. Create a list of toppings of at least six options and the cost for each size pizza. Create and price three sides such as cheese sticks, chicken wings, or other of your choice. What are my drink options? Create three premade combos combinations of toppings and sides with or with ought a drink. These combo meals don’t need to be slightly less than the cost of all three but it does help with sales.

Present: To the class a presentation or tri-fold display of your menu and explain the pricing of all your foods. Create a restaurant logo.

Grading:

20 Points: Research and creation of the menu as a group.

15 Points: Presentation and visual aid to the class.

15 Points: Group member review and participation.

Day 3 Agenda

  • Continue/Complete CalculationsCost of Pizza, Cost Savings compared to Specialty Pizza pricing, Savings Percentage, Cost of Pizza at other Pizza places, Comparison to Papa John's Pricing

  • Cost of Meal, Cost of Sides and Sizes, and drinks options and Sizes.

Create a visual display of math, calculations, costs, and savings

  • Table and/or Chart

    • Can be completed electronically or by hand

Organize data and information in a way that can be presented with a purpose

  • Poster, Tri-Fold, Slide Show, etc

Prepare and plan for presentation.
