Career Cruising 02 Multiple Intelligence Test

Learning Objectives:

Are you a people person? Number person? Physically coordinated? The world makes sense to use different and we all have our weaknesses and strengths.

Today we will take an assessment that will measure 8 categories of intelligence preference. This is NOT an IQ test or a test that tells you how intelligent you are, but rather, an assessment that shows some of your learning/personality characteristics.

After finishing the assessment, you will see which categories you scored highest in and in that category a non-comprehensive list of careers that match that intelligence category. Let's begin...

Step 1: Open the google sheet -> Multiple Intelligences Questionnaire and click on 'File' -> 'Make a Copy' so you can edit the document.

Step 2: For each question item, read the phrase and decide if the statement is a lot like you, a bit like you, or not like you. Then next to the question in the B column, type a 3, 2, or 1 respectively.

Step 3: 8 different intelligence classifications are at the bottom of the sheet. See which 2 you scored highest in. Read the deception and the occupations associated with your highest intelligence.

Step 4: log in to career cruising and save 2 careers from the list of occupations given to you today to your plan. Because the list given is not an extensive list, you are allowed to search for one of those suggested careers and use the "related careers" button in career cruising.

Step 5: I want you to log your "intelligence" in career cruising as well. Click on "my plan ->my assessments ->other assessments->more assessments->multiple intelligences.

Enter today's date for "date taken" and insert your three top bits of intelligence.

Step 6: Update your career comparison tool so that in the "Careers" column, you replace 'multiple intelligence tests' with the names of the 2 careers you have chosen in today's activity.
