Feel free to explore the site. You can look up careers, colleges, all kinds of things! The only thing I don't want you to do are the assessments. NO NOT DO MATCHMAKER or any other assessment.

We are going to use a data table to help users track what we like about the careers we study from this point forward. This is incredibly individual as every tool is going to be different from others around you. Some things like money might be more important to some people while others are more concerned about what they do for a living.

So let's set it up!

Step 1: Please open the google doc and make a copy for yourself by pressing 'file' and 'make a copy' Name the file "Career Comparison Tool"

Career Comparison Tool

Step 2: Look at the top cells (B1-F1). You need to Rank what is most important to you, 5 = most important and 1 = least important. Read each description by mousing over the cells B1-F1. They will help define what each cell represents. For example cell, D1 represents "earnings, wages, and pay". Mousing over the cell it or clicking on the note it will say

"How important is your compensation? How important is it for you to make high amounts of money based on the lifestyle you want to live?"

If it is the most important thing for you, you will replace the 0 with a 5 in the cell.

Step 3: Make sure you do not use any number 1-5 twice. Each number is different and again, prioritizing your preferences.

Now in the future whenever you are investigating a career, you are going to update this form. Read the notes on cells B2-F2. They will give directions and how to rate and note all the rest of your cells B3:F11.

Here is a video that should help you understand what you are doing.
