Post date: Sep 20, 2017 5:04:09 PM
Students will be able to:
Know the major components of computers and what they do
The central processing unit (CPU)Â
Random access memory (RAM or system memory or short-term memory)
Motherboard (or system board or main board)
Hard Drive (storage memory or long-term memory)
Helper cards (like video cards and audio cards, that are mini computers in their right with their own motherboards, ram, and processors)
Know how information is stored, opened, used/changed, processed, and saved and how that information moves throughout the components of the computer.
Troubleshoot by thinking critically about content knowledge and typical problem scenarios that occur in computing.
As a class, we will watch a Brain Pop Video on how computers work. If you have headphones and would like to watch the video on your own that's ok. We will borrow DMS's login. Watch the video, if you have no headphones, you will need to turn the audio down and watch it with the class. Take the quiz as many times as you want in review mode so you can learn from your mistakes. When you're happy with your score, take a screenshot of your results. Make sure your screenshot includes the name of the brain pop lesson. If you not sure how to take a screenshot, google it. You can also use the Snipping Tool. It's a program in your accessories folder and it lets you drag a window around what you want to create a screenshot of. The username is "dundeemiddlebp"
the password is "brainpop"
