Learning outcome:

    • To create a presentation that advances from start to finish and plays audio that is synchronized to the pages of Angel Child Dragon Child.

    • To list the steps for producing a multimedia presentation. You and a partner will create a PowerPoint presentation that tells the story of Angel Child Dragon Child.

This PowerPoint will run on its own and present the book with you reading the pages and showing the illustrations. You will be working with the person sitting next to you.

Here are some instructions and guidelines as to how to create your presentation.

· Open Microsoft PowerPoint and Save As Angel Child Dragon Child in your documents folder. Create a new Slide

· Your slide presentation will have 33 slides. A title slide with your name and the name of the assignment and 32 slides with the pages of the book and audio of you reading with your partner.

· Insert the picture of the page you are working on. Pictures are located in the SHARE folder under Angel Child Dragon Child. The pictures are labeled by the page numbers. then locate the Pictures.

· Resize the picture to fit the size of the slide. Click and drag the corners to size the picture.

· Use Audacity to record you reading the pages. Please refer to the AudacityPage for more information.

· Insert the audio file in the slide whose page you just read. Remember to click the insert ribbon.

· You need to tell the computer what to do with the audio when it gets to the slide. Click on the sound cone icon and move it outside the slide. You can easily click it and not get the picture. Wile you have the sound clip selected, you can change how the audio clip plays. Click Audio Tools and change the drop-down menu from a mouse click. When you select automatically, the audio will play automatically when the slide is shown.

· Now the computer needs to know when to change to the next slide. You need to change the slide timing so the slide advances at the end of the sound clip. Under Transitions tab on the right, you can change how long the slide will display before it changes.

· Look at the sound clip to see how long it is so you know how long to set the transition time.

· You need to make sure you are working at a good pace. Read and record two pages each day with your partner.

How you will be graded:

3: You have done your best at completing two slides each day and have a completed product, or very close to, at the end the class Friday, February 1st. Each page has the correct audio and the pages are arranged in correct order. You and your partner can demonstrate that you know how to record and save an MP3 file. Locate that file and insert that file into a PowerPoint Slide. Your timing is good and the presentation plays itself.

2: You were good at completing two slides each day but some days lacked motivation. You have less of the slides done but audio is lacking on some of them. Some pages have incorrect audio and the pages are not arranged in correct order. You and your partner can mostly demonstrate that you know how to record and save an MP3 file. Locate that file and insert that file into a PowerPoint Slide needs prompting from a teacher or other students. Your timing is good but the presentation does not play itself all the way through.

1: You have most of the slides done. You have been reminded by the teacher to not interrupt other people learning. You and your partner are unable to demonstrate how to create and save an MP3 file and locate it in order to insert the file into a PowerPoint.
