Post date: Dec 12, 2017 8:09:42 PM

Day 1 Agenda

Revisit/Recall some of the various energy sources and how power gets from the source to the people

Identify some of the countries that experience power and electricity shortages and outages

  • Recall the various sacrifices and daily issues these people must face

Introduce group project

  • Choose a country based on its location and need for advancement with electricity and energy sources

  • Analyze its issues and determine which energy source would be best based on geographic location and the needs of the people

  • Decide as a group what option(s) would be best and how would that energy be transmitted to the people

  • Additionally, how would the energy/electricity be transmitted throughout a house in your country

  • You will have to present your information next week to the class.

  • At the end of this week, Your Teacher will meet with each group to evaluate your progress and what your work next week will look like as you create your presentation. At that point, you will need to show a script or basics of a presentation.

Evidence

  • Each Day your teacher will meet with your group and ask, "What is the plan for today?"

  • Each group member should be able to say what they are doing today and what the plan is for tomorrow.

Record your findings

  • Your group will need to create a google slide presentation to cover the above topics

  • Each member needs to be shared so they can all edit.

Day 2 Agenda

Reconvene with your group

Collectively choose a country needing help with energy and electricity

  • Remember to identify geographic locations and potential possibilities of energy sources

Weigh out options for various energy sources and decide which source might best fit your country's needs

  • There will be more than one good option - discuss which may be best and most efficient and effective

Investigate your choice of energy source and how it produces energy and electricity

  • Research how the electricity is created and the process required to transfer from source to homes

Day 3 Agenda

Continue working with your groups

  • Begin identifying issues your country has and struggles your country's people face

Questions to answer

  • What daily struggles does your country's people face without energy/electricity?

  • What geographic area are you focusing on and what energy source can be introduced to that area?

  • What are some energy sources your country currently employs?

  • What energy sources are not used and why?

After identifying an area and an energy source, begin to brainstorm and plan for implementation

  • Which energy source would be best and why?

  • How exactly does your energy source produce electricity and power?

  • What is the process of transmitting energy/electricity from the source to the people?

Day 4 Agenda

Take notes and information and work to create a rough draft/brainstorm how you want to present your information

  • Ensure you have all necessary information

  • Keep audience in mind when presenting information

Items to consider/remember when working

  • Which country/where in the country specifically are we looking at

  • Daily struggles and challenges faced

  • Which source of energy was chosen and why

  • How does the source of energy work to provide electricity

  • How is the power transmitted from source to the people

  • How would the power be dispersed throughout the homes of the people
