Jonah is still persisting with the idea that Wayne’s accident may not have been accidental and that it could be linked to the homophobic incidents that he’s investigating. He and Monica Philipson (who’s heading up the hit-and-run case until Anna is in again at the weekend) have swapped information in the hope that the two cases may throw light on one another, but we seem to be annoyingly short of clues for either of them!
Peter couldn’t resist going over to Blackbird Leys to have a look at the crime scene himself – although he pretends that he was just taking the kids to the park. He met Anna there – ostensibly taking Donna for a walk, but presumably really hoping to spot some evidence that everyone else has missed!
Wayne seems to be improving – but slowly. We had an irate phone call this evening from Graham (his dad) complaining that Monica has been in trying to interview him. Jonah’s calling her all the names under the sun for being so insensitive. Peter and I are keeping a low profile, but we secretly think that she was only doing what he might easily have done when he was younger – getting carried away with the thrill of the chase and not remembering to be careful of people’s feelings.
