Well! you can't say the last day of Vanessa's trial was dull! And the very fact that it was the last day illustrates how dramatic it was. We were expecting the defence evidence to take at least until Monday, if not longer. The prosecution case has completely collapsed and the crown has withdrawn all charges against her. While we can't take all the credit, it's fairly certain that this would never have happened if Peter hadn't unearthed a crucial witness, who turned out to know more than even he realised. So that's that. West Mercia Police have taken over the investigation again, and they expect to charge the real murderer in a few days' time; and Vanessa has left the court without a stain on her character.
Meanwhile, it's back to normal for us. Crystal's on earlies this week, so we'll have the kids round every morning. Stan and Sylvia very kindly offered to look after them today, so that Peter could go to the trial, but it’s good that we don’t need to ask them to do any more than that. Jonah's got some publicity shots to do for Design Ability, which will keep him out of mischief. Aunty Dot hasn't been too well the last few days, so I may make a quick dash up to Liverpool to visit her and see how Lucy's doing at the same time. Never a dull moment!
