Peter took Eddie and Crystal house-hunting today. They came back feeling rather dejected. There’s really nothing in their price range that is any good at all for a young family. Peter has the remainder of the proceeds from selling his house (after giving half of it to Hannah when they bought their present house in Leeds), which he’s giving them for a deposit, but that still leaves them needing a larger mortgage than their salaries will provide. We’ve told them that they are welcome to stay with us for as long as they like, but Eddie is determined to move into their own place before the new baby is due.
