I'm seriously worried abut Aunty Dot now. She wouldn't admit it, but her throat certainly sounded dry when we were talking to her this afternoon and she couldn't suppress a cough. Of course, it could just be the way the weather has warmed up but the central heating is still on full blast in her room - which is what she claimed it was - but I can't help thinking that it all sounds very much like a dry cough, adn if she'sfeeling hot, possibly a temperature as well.
We all made palm crosses out of odds and ends of card and ribbon, because the stash of real palms that Father Damien has in his vestry will have to stay there ready for next year. Here are the ones I made.
We had a telephone service with Stan and Sylvia this morning. Everyone did a bit and Stan preached the sermon. He and Sylvia are still keeping well, but obviously missing going to church. Matt Hancock is threatening to increase the restrictions on going out of the house, after a whole lot of people congregated on beaches and in parks this weekend, enjoying the sunshine. Not being allowed out to exercise won't make a big difference to us, because we can't go out together anyway. Someone has to stay in with Jonah and he can't go out with us because he's already completely confined to barracks. We're getting plenty of exercise in the garden in any case, what with digging another potato bed and doing some serious pruning of the biggest apple tree. That should really have been done in the Autumn, but the weather was so windy and wet then that we gave up.
