Well, well well! The four young people have come up with a scheme for their accommodation next year - that is, assuming that both Lucy and Mariam get places at Liverpool. Ibrahim is struglling to find somewhereh permanent to live. Dominic has been hankering after moving out of his parents' house, with no encrouagement from his Mum. Mariam's parents aren't sure about her living in a big student Hall and their main reason for encouraging her to go to Lvierpool was that then Ibrahim can keep an eye on her. Lucy just needs somewhere to stay - preferably not in the rather cramped quarters that Ruth and Joey are keen to tell her they would love her to occupy!
Their plan is for Ibrahim and Dominic to rent a house together and to sublet rooms to Lucy and Mariam. It sounds like a good idea to me - provided they don't fall out. I have to admit I was a bit surprised that Lucy went along with it. I thought she might be afraid that it amounted to leading Dominic on, but she pointed out that Mariam will be there to act as chaperone!
Now we're all waiting on tenterhooks to find out whether Lucy gets an offer. She says the interviews went well, but then the Oxford ones seemed OK too, so it's hard to tell.
