After more than 24 hours of worry, the good news is that Carl is safe home. He was worried about his birth mother’s grandfather (i.e. Carl and Harry’s great grandfather) who played quite a big part in their lives when they were small. He’s 72 and Carl had been listening to all the news reports about how dangerous COVID-19 was for people over 70. He tried to catch a train, but got frightened when a member of staff asked him why he was buying a ticket at the machine. Then he thought he could cycle all the way to Leamington! Fortunately he got a puncture before he’d got beyond Kidlington. Gavin Hughes picked him up as he was walking back into Oxford after spending the night bedded down in some bushes near the golf course.

Poor Wayne and Dean! Parenting isn’t easy at the best of times, and this certainly isn’t the best of times!
