Dominic is here. He arrived late last night and has anounced that he's off up North again on Saturday. He's arranged to spend a few days in Bolton with Ibrahim's family - or perhaps more to the point, with Mariam and her parents. I have a suspicion that he may only have come to see us as a way of concealing his plans for visiting Mariam from his mother. My guess is that he's told Ruth and Joey that he's coming down to Oxford and hasn't gven them a definite date for when he's coming back.
Meanwhile, Jonah has continued to worry away at this additional witness that he thinks he's discovered who might be able to tell us more about the men that the police believe sprayed Mariam and her friends with acid. Not only has he found the young man's address, but he's determined to go over there. Apparently it's a big house with extensive grounds and they're opening it to the public the Sunday after next as part of the National Gardens Scheme. Jonah's idea is that we could go over there and go round the garden - doing our bit for charity in the process - and "accidentally" bump into the lad (his name's Bradley) and fall into conversation, whereupon he will reveal the vital clue that unlocks the puzzle and enables Jonah to get the culprits banged up for murder and attempted murder and probably several other offences into the bargain! You have to hand it to Jonah - he's ever the optimist.
