So the trial of the accused murderers of PC Andrew Harper has been stopped because another member of the jury has been forced to self-isolate to stop the spead of COVID-19; and there are to be no new Crown Court trials begun until further notice. It's a terrible blow for Andrew's family, who must have been hoping that it would all soon be over and they could get back to grieving in something approaching to privacy. It also confirms our fears that the trial of Kenny Hughes' killers may be delayed for a very long time indeed. They're all remanded in custody at present. I hope they don't decide to appeal against being kept in jail on the grounds that it's unreasonable to do so when there's no sign of when their trial will take place.
In other news, there are now 44 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Oxfordshire, and scientists at the university are working on a vaccine.
