They've released the men accused of killing Kenny Hughes on bail. Peter rang Gavin as soon as he heard about it on the news. He was relieved that the court had at least notified the family as soon as it happened. Gavin says he's fine about it, but I can imagine it's rather unsettling to think that he might come across them in the street. I suppose at least they're confined to their homes the same as the rest of us at present, but they must go out to get food sometimes and, of course, Gavin is out and about doing his police work every day.
There's still no news on when the trial might start. The backlog of Crown Court cases is still growing by all accounts.
I dropped off the laptop and mobile Wifi router with Stan and Sylvia. Stan seemed very dubious about the whole business, but I think Sylvia is determined to make a go of it. I hope so. They're very isolated at the moment.
