Stella Gilbert has decided to take a year out next year and to work to earn enough to pay the course fees for the Certificate of Knowledge of Policing instead of going for a degree. She's already submitted her UCAS form, which keeps her options open, but I could see that her mind was made up. I don't blame her. A Student Loan is a big commitment to take on, especially if you end up not being accepted by your chosen employer afterwards. She can do the Policing Certificate while living at home and working part time, which should mean that she starts out with no debt. She's already been a police cadet for nearly 4 years, so I don't see rte need for her to take any course before she gets accepted, but rule are rules. I just hope that she gets her dream job at teh end of it all. With all the cutbacks in police numbers, you have to wonder if there'll be any places for trainee PCs by 2020.
