Peter went round to see Father Damien this afternoon for one of his confirmation preparation sessions, but they ended up spending the time rescuing stuff from the corner fo the church where the organ used to be. It turns out that the fix that the builders did on the roof yesterday hadn't been properly sealed yet and the stronge wind overnight blew rain up under the edge and inside the church. The curtain that shields the organist from view is soaked through and some sheet music that had been left piled up there will probably be unusable. They're trying to dry it out, but you know how it is when paper gets wet and then dries ... And, of course, that means that it'l be even longer before the wallls and ceiling are dry enough to re-plaster.
No news from the organ builders, which isn't helping the Father's anxiety!
