We're back in the hotel for another overnight before setting off back for Oxford tomorrow morning. I don't know if I mentioned that Karen comes from Aberystwyth and they got married at her parents' church there. I don't think either Paul or Karen ever attend themselves, so I don't know whether they chose that option to please Karen's mum or because it will look better on the wedding photos than the Register Office - but maybe I'm being unfairly cynical!
Paul invited Lucy to be a bride's maid, but she opted to read a lesson instead. She's getting too old to find dressing up in fancy frocks exciting any more. Two of Karen's cousins made very pretty little bride's maids (if you like that sort of thing) and her older sister was matron of honour and signed the register.
Bride and Groom have both driven off into the sunset (not literally of course, since that would mean driving into the sea!) leaving most of the guests at the hotel. The trouble with Aberyswyth is that it's a long way away from absolutely everywhere!
