Peter and Lucy went to see Anna and the baby today. They’re back home, which we found quite surprising, but I suppose there’s a lot of pressure to get people out of hospital unless they absolutely have to be there. According to Peter, Anna’s daughter, Jessica, is very much in charge! She insisted on restricting their visiting to twenty minutes, so that they wouldn’t tire her mother and was very much on the defensive when Peter asked about the baby’s condition. He got the impression that she was expecting everyone to be very negative about little Donna having spina bifida. She should have realised that we were hardly likely to feel negatively towards such a disability, with having Jonah around to remind us not to write people off.
