Andy popped in briefly on his way home from a crime scene. It was an apparent suicide just round the corner from us – practically one of our neighbours! We don’t really know them, but the young man who died was in the year below Lucy at school and I do remember speaking to his mother a few times when we were waiting out the Primary School for the kids to come out. She’ll be devastated. He was quite a bit younger than his sisters, as far as I remember, and very much her little darling.
