Another Sunday and another socially-distanced Mass and online Methodist service. We were on duty at St Cyprian’s again this morning. I think Jonah is quietly coming to quite like Mass – although he’d never admit it! Poor Father Damien looks exhausted. He’s still making YouTube videos for the folk who can’t get to church or who aren’t confident about coming. There were fewer of them this week – we almost had to turn people away. Damien is thinking of introducing a booking system – or maybe streaming the service to the hall in the Parish Centre to cope with any overflow. That would be a massive policing problem because we’d need stewards there as well as in the church to make sure everyone sticks to the COVID rules, and what about distributing the host? Would They all process into the church or would Damien go over to the Parish Centre to give it to them there?
This afternoon, Yvonne came round and we had a good session filling out the CICA form on my laptop. I’ve sorted out an online account for her - and an email address! In theory, she ought to be able to finish it all at home. I’ve told her got get Leo to show her how to link her phone to their WiFi. We shall see …
