Bavarian Cream

Ingredients

• ⅓ cup sugar
• 1 T flour
• 1 T cornstarch
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1½ cups milk (or soy milk)
• 1 egg, beaten
• 1 tsp vanilla
• ½ cup whipped cream (already whipped, not just whipping cream)

To Prepare

1. Combine sugar, flour, cornstarch and salt; gradually stir in milk and egg
2. Cook on medium-high heat while stirring constantly
3. Once mixture begins to boil, cook for another 3 minutes until it thickens
4. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla
5. Pour into a shallow bowl/pan and cover with plastic wrap (make sure the wrap touches the surface); cool to room temperature
6. Beat until smooth and fold in whipped cream
7. Chill for at least 2 hours
