Or have you seen a pet you would love someone in your family to get!
Tell us what this pet is, what you guys love to do together or what you would do if you had that pet?
Think about how this would make you feel, where it happened or could happen and what it would look like?
Once you have written 3-5 sentences with lots of detail about this pet, draw us a picture as well so we can see what they look like.
Bio Poem
What am I learning?
*to write a poem about myself
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I have followed the correct format and punctuation
*I have checked that I have done the right amount for each line
*I used a dictionary to come up with words
Activity description/steps:
Today in reading we are going to be creating our own bio poem! Have you ever heard of a bio poem before? No? That’s ok! Bio in this case is short for autobiography, which is an account of a person’s life written by that person. A bio poem follows a predictable pattern and generally doesn't rhyme.
We’re going to first read Miss Shannon’s bio poem.
Start by reading over the template here.
You will need to make a rough draft first. So grab a piece of paper and start working through each line filling it out as it applies to you. Remember it’s ok to cross out and make mistakes as you go!
Once you’ve finished your draft, proofread it. If someone at home can proofread it too, even better!
Once you have your first draft done, publish it on canva here. If not, find a nice, blank piece of paper and decorate it.
Make sure to share with your teacher on class dojo.
Extras for early finishers
Turn each line of your poem into a full sentence. Try to stretch them out using more adjectives, verbs and other parts of speech.
