Miss Chrisp baking ANZAC Biscuits
ANZAC Biscuits Story
You will need:
- 125grams of butter
- 1 rounded tablespoon (or ¼ cup) of golden syrup
-½ teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in; (make sure it’s baking SODA and not baking POWDER!)
- 2 x tablespoons of boiling water
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of rolled oats
- 1 cup of coconut
- 1 cup of flour
Method:
Set oven to 165 degrees
Grease a baking tray or cover a baking tray in baking paper
Melt butter and golden syrup gently in a medium sized pot
Add in and stir baking soda in boiling water
In a separate bowl add the rest of dry the ingredients
You must make these with love
Mix all the ingredients together
Put spoonfuls, just smaller than a golf ball on the baking tray, with space between them as they will spread
Cook for 20 - 25 min. Watch them! They can overcook

Read the recipe and make sure you have all the ingredients to make Anzac Biscuits. Watch along with Miss Chrisp and bake together!
If you don't have the ingredients at home watch the video on the left with Miss Chrisp, and then go to: Countdown NZ Shop Online Website and calculate how much it would cost to buy all the ingredients.

1. Nena says if you triple the recipe you will make 175 biscuits. How many biscuits will you make if you only make 1 batch?

Say the Karakia Timatanga Whakataka te hau
Watch the Hikitia te ha video and follow the moves
Complete the movements again and listen carefully for all of the Māori Gods names
Create a picture using colouring tools or an online drawing tool. Make sure your drawing includes at least 1 of the Gods in their surroundings e.g Tāne Mahuta with the forest and birds
Share a video of you completing the movements and your Gods Illustration on your Class Dojo Portfolio

Describe each God using 5 Māori kupu (words). Use the Māori dictionary online
