How can I make sure I am successful?

*I have thought about the story and answered the questions about what the author is trying to infer
Activity description/steps:
1.Llisten to the story “The Night Before Mother's Day” by Doug Mcleod
2. Answer the questions on the activity sheet (it is ok if you don’t have a printer - you can write the questions and answers on your own paper at home)
Extras for early finishers:
Think about something that your Mum, or Aunty, Grandma, or whoever looks after you the most, would REALLY like. What can you do to celebrate them this weekend? Take a photo or video of your ideas and upload them to Class Dojo.
Extras for early finishers:
Try drawing someone else in your family too. Don’t forget to send a copy of all of your drawings to your teacher.

What am I learning?
*to represent myself as a Minecraft character
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I can draw a representation of myself
*I can use symmetry
Activity description/steps:
Think Maths… Symmetry! Draw a self-portrait of yourself as a character on Minecraft. Use this example as inspiration
If you don’t have Maths paper or squared paper, you can ask an adult in your house to help you draw the squares on your page. Or you can just draw it without the squares
Your aim is to make it symmetrical, which means the same on both sides.
Share a picture of your drawing with your teacher or post it on your Class Dojo Portfolio.
Extras for early finishers:
Read through this website and watch this video about why it’s important for kids to be active.
Write your teacher a paragraph persuading her about why it’s important for children to be active. You can write this, create a poster, act it out or read it out as a speech.
Post how you published or shared your reasons to your Class Dojo Portfolio.
