Transactional Writing
Write a recipe for a cake that a witch might like. Draw a picture of the finished cake. Remember to make sure you cook it for too long!
Use this template as an example about how you might write your recipe out. If you have recipe books at home use them to help you with words used in a recipe.

Find out about your family's history. If they are happy to, ask someone in your whānau to share with you about some interesting things in the history of your family. Write them down in a journal or on a piece of paper.

Activity description/steps:
Family Tree
Watch this video to learn about how a family tree works.
Ask someone in your whānau about your “family tree”. Who are your grandparents, who are your aunties and uncles? What are their names? What are the names of your cousins?
See if you can create your own family tree together

Leaf Rubbing Art
Watch this video on how to rub your leaves to creates textured leaves on your paper
Now you will create your family tree using art
For this art activity, you will need: paper, different kinds of dry leaves, pencil (plain or coloured), crayons etc.
Draw a trunk as the base of your tree with branches laid out how you like
Then, on the branches, create the leaves by rubbing over your leaf through the paper.
Then create your leaves on a new piece of paper using the leaf rubbing technique
Cut your leaves out and stick them onto your tree/branches
Look at this example to show what it might look like.
Share your art and your family tree with your teacher
Extras for early finishers:
Design the perfect plate! Design a meal that has the right amount of the right food groups. Draw what it would look like on a plate and make sure you label what all the different foods are! Upload this to your Class Dojo Portfolio!

Play the My Plate Match Game (working through as many levels as you can).
On a Google Doc / piece of paper write at least 5 things that you learnt from watching the video and playing this game. (If you want to you could record yourself saying them!)
