Activity description/steps:

Need: The times table chart to refer to
The Ace card will represent number one
1.Take all of the picture cards out of the deck
2.Choose a card out of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10 (because these are the only times tables you have been practising so far) and place this card in the middle. This card will become the number you will be practising your times tables with. Let’s say the card you chose is a 5
3.Shuffle the cards and deal out all of the cards to the players including yourself
4.The person to the left of the dealer will go first and then the next person and so on
5.First player turns one of their cards up. Let’s say the card turned up was a 3. All players need to multiply that card with the chosen card which was the 5 e.g. 5x3=15
6.Fist player to call out the correct answer gets to keep that card
7.It is now the next player's turn
8.The person with the most cards wins the game

Describing a moment in time
What am I learning?
To use interesting adjectives to describe the moment in time shown in the photo
How can I make sure I am successful?
-take a good look at the photograph and make a decision about what you think is happening
-brainstorm all the adjectives you might use to describe this
-get writing!
Activity description/steps:
Descriptive writing allows us to use our interesting adjectives and poetic language to show the reader a picture in their head.
Using this image, create a piece of ‘moment in time’ writing, Use the image to describe what is happening at the moment this picture was taken. Imagine that the reader cannot see the picture, and is relying completely on your writing to create an image in their mind.
An example of how you could start..
“ After all this time I finally get to hold you”. The Rhino’s grey, wrinkled and heavy head rested on the keeper's lap as he sunk into feelings of relief- at last.
You can type your writing up on a google doc or write it on a piece of paper, and photograph your work. It should be at least two paragraphs.
