What am I learning?
*what is rhythm
*the different ways I can create rhythm
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I can use my body to make a beat
* I can make a long sound/beat with my body (held for 4 counts)
*I can make a two beat sound with my body (held for 2 counts)
* I can make a one beat sound with my body (held for 1 count)
Activity description/steps:
We can create rhythm by clapping, dancing or making noises. Rhythm helps keep the beat of a song. It is what holds the song together and keeps it fun. You can find rhythm in nature, such as waves in the ocean.
Listen carefully outside your window or in your back-yard. Can you hear a rhythm?
Use clapping, stomping, or a vocal sound to create a beat. Try and use one beat, two beat and long beats (held for 4 counts) in your rhythm
Take a video of you performing your rhythm Upload it to your Class Dojo Portfolio or share it with your teacher.
Extras for early finishers:
Watch this clip and clap along, keeping time with the papaya!
Record your own body beat and share it on your class dojo. You can also email it to Whaea Suzie who is our specialist music teacher!

Or, you can imitate the accent of your favourite T.V character. Get them to give it a go before they give you an accent to try. Go back and forth a couple of times.

Here is an example of the British accent to help you.
