THE AMYGDALA
What am I learning?
*I am learning about our emotional system, The Amygdala.
How can I make sure I am successful?
*Identify key words of the emotional system and what they mean.
*Use the diagram and other sources to deepen your understanding of the Amygdala and its functions.
Activity description/steps:
Do you ever think about what part of our brain functions our thoughts and emotions?
We have sensory input and this triggers our Amygdala to function and respond in different ways. Look at some facts of The Amygdala and a video Getting to know your brain (watch 1:24-3:07)
Draw a diagram of our brain and label where the Amygdala is - write 4-5 interesting facts about it. You can use the diagram above to sketch or a pic of your own choice.
Watch this video and write down some points on how a baby is possibly feeling while listening to this sound for the first time: Baby hearing his mum’s voice for the first time.
