What am I learning?
* To provide a detailed character description of an antagonist.
How can I make sure I am successful?
* I know the difference between a protagonist and an antagonist.
* I have planned and written about my chosen antagonist.
Activity description/steps:
In every story there is a protagonist and an antagonist. The protagonist is the main character, usually the hero who saves the day. An antagonist is the opposite.
Today you will provide a detailed description of an antagonist. Think about your favourite character from a story. Can you think of a character who possesses the opposite qualities? Are there some similar traits shared between the protagonist and antagonist?
Choose one of the templates below to describe your antagonist.
Use the information in your template plan to write about your antagonist. This can be in any genre of writing: descriptive, poem, narrative or biographical.
Use the Character Description template to provide a description of your antagonist. Draw a picture of the antagonist in the middle box.
Use the venn diagram to compare and contrast the characteristics of your chosen antagonist and protagonist. Can you find some similarities they share and does this make you think of the antagonist in a different way?
