Lockdown Moana Zine
What am I learning?
* to use information with confidence to express ideas
*to work together with peers in an interview process to form the basis of an article
to learn about each others experiences
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I’ve been kind and respectful and chosen someone to work with that I don’t normally work with or don’t know very well. (This is a chance to understand how the lockdown was for some of your peers, but also to get to know your classmates better).
*I’ve been kind and respectful when listening to their answers. (If they don’t want you to write something down, don’t write it down)
*I’ve paraphrased the answers back to my partner using these sentence starters:
What I am hearing you say is that….
So from that I understand that…
In other words you…….
If I am understanding you correctly you are telling me that….
This way you will know that you have understood your classmate correctly.
Activity description/steps:
Read the interview questions carefully and add some of my own questions
Work with someone that you don’t usually work with so that you will get to know other people in our class
Be respectful and kind when asking and answering questions (Everyone has had different experiences through the lockdown)
After you have asked them the questions and written down the answers go back through them with them to make sure you have the right information, you can use the sentence starters
Make sure you both have the chance to ask each other questions
Share back, if you have permission, some of your partners answers with your family / classmates
Present the information you have learned about the other person's time at home / in class
Extras for early finishers:
Put time into your presentation. Be creative, have fun. We will put all the lockdown articles and some straight interviews into a Moana Lockdown ‘Zine.

What am I learning?
*to design the ultimate electric guitar using an artist model
*to know the parts of an electric guitar off by heart
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I have researched the art of these artists and choosen a style/pattern for my own guitar
*I have looked at the parts of the guitar and learnt them off by heart
Activity description/steps:
Look at the example of the electric guitar. All the names point out important parts of the instrument. Draw your own electric guitar and label it using the template to help.
Have a look at different styles of art
Do you like their art style?
Pick one that you like and design your own guitar using the artist's style to influence your design! Colour it in and do your best work!

What am I learning?
*to use basic sign language
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I will watch the videos and learn basic sign language greetings
*I will use the poster and learn to sign my name in NZSL
*I will learn the Tik Tok sign language dance
Activity description/steps:
Watch this introduction to sign language video to learn some basic sign language as a class (Hello, My name is, I’m fine etc.).
Use the NZSL poster to learn how to sign your name. Learn your name. Try to teach your name to the rest of your table and see if you can learn theirs.
