Santa is travelling all over the world this Christmas BUT there’s a problem!

What am I learning?

To make meaning of historical ideas.


How can I make sure I am successful?

-I can identify the main ideas connecting to Christmas.

-I can research their history and how they came to be.


Activity description/steps:

All around the world, every kid looks for the white bearded man in the red and white suit to visit their home on the night of Christmas eve. What I always wanted to know is...how did Father Christmas come to be? Where did the idea come from? Who was a part of his family?

You are going to be a detective to identify Santa and his crew by researching the history of where these ideas all started!

Whether it be elves, the scrooge, or the fact that you were told he likes milk and cookies - we want to get answers!


When you discover some interesting facts - design a few slides as a google presentation to share with the class!

What am I learning?

To use my creative thinking hat and fill in the blanks.


How can I make sure I am successful?

-I can choose suitable words for a fill in story.

-I can read my story overall to ensure it makes sense.


Activity description/steps:

You are given the role to do storytime for your younger friends at night time.

The thing is...you haven't really told a story before! What would you say? Hang on - Christmas is near! You could use Santa’s storytime roll out Christmas line to put a twist on your version to entertain them!

Look at the sheet below and get creative when filling in the blanks. Ensure that the words you put in makes sense and fits the overall picture.

Dont forget to read your writing out loud to see that it makes sense!

Use the same template and use some different words for a second draft - choose the story that best entertains you!
