to count and write numbers from 1 to 10 in Chinese
How can I make sure I am successful?
-Watch one or two of the videos and write down the numbers in Chinese/Mandarin
-Pronounce the numbers correctly
-Write the numbers using chinese writing
Activity description/steps:
Listen to and watch one or two of the videos and practice the numbers in Mandarin till you know them off by heart.
Write out the numbers using the Chinese script and identify which are the numbers.

Look at this site and follow the basic steps on how to write Chinese numbers. Listen to this video on how to correctly pronounce these numbers as you write them.
Play this game to become familiar with Tangram puzzles
Watch this video on how to make Chinese Tangram Zodiac animals.
Try drawing your own and post your pics up. Remember to use your geometric shapes! See if you can design yours online through scratch or google slides with shapes!

How can I make sure I am successful?
-Read and listen to the story
-Select key ideas and words
-Use the main ideas and keywords to rewrite the story
Activity description/steps:
Read the Chinese new year tale and identify the key ideas or main ideas and key words.
Rewrite the story using the main ideas and keywords but rewrite it your own way.
Make sure you use full sentences and tell the whole story.
Use paragraphs (2-3 sentences about the same thing, OR beginning middle and end OR
Instruction, problem, solution)
Extra for early finishers:
Publish your story using google slides OR docs, add images to support your writing and send it to your teacher.

-Follow the instructions on the dragon art video or be even more creative and make your own style and take a picture of your visual art

Watch each video and decide if you want to engage in music or visual arts OR both!
Create your piece of art by following the instructions on the videos OR use your own inspiration and creativity.
Take videos of yourself or a picture of the art and send it through to Miss Karaka.
