Lockdown Letters
What am I learning?
* to write and use descriptive words
* to write using a letter format
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I will use the letter writing format to properly set up my letter
*I will write my letter using as much description as possible
*I will share my letter with my classroom teacher
Activity description/steps:
Using this letter writing format, write a letter to someone who is not in your bubble. They might be someone you know or maybe they are someone you don’t know who is doing a lockdown in a different country. You can use your imagination.
Describe what your daily life is like, what you eat, how you spend your time, how you feel, what your house looks like. You need to pretend that they don’t know anything about your life. Use as much description as possible to bring your lockdown world alive for them.
Share your letter with your classroom teacher. If your letter is to someone you know, send them a picture or save it to give to them.
Extras for early finishers:
Write a letter to the Primeminister, Jacinda Ardern. What would you like to say to her? Do you have any questions that you would like to ask her, or any feedback that you would like to give about the lockdown so far?
