Double, Double, Boil and Bubble!
What am I learning?
*We are learning to double numbers with 2 or more digits.
How can I make sure I am successful?
*Check your answers with a family member or using a calculator. Did you get them correct? If yes -great! If not, why not? Share your strategy/method with a family member - it might need changing!
Activity description/steps:
Double the numbers listed on the activity sheet - try and do this in your head and write down the answers on a piece of paper!
If there are numbers that you struggle to double, how could you figure this out? Try a few different strategies..
Tip to help you: Your place value knowledge will be most helpful! For example, to double 175
We know 100 + 100 = 200
We know that 70 + 70 = 140
We know that 5 + 5 = 10
200 + 140 = 340
340 + 10 = 350
So… 175 doubled is 350
Do you have a different strategy for working out your doubles? Write these down and share these with us!
