Activity description/steps:
Check out the worksheet above.
Grid Maps can be used as ways to locate things. Similarly, an Atlas uses grid mapping features known as longitude and latitude.
There are three tasks to complete with detailed instructions and guidelines to support you.
Task 1: Use the Grid Map Coordinates to locate the corresponding shapes.
Task 2: Use the grid map coordinates to identify where room furniture is located, and to break a SECRET CODE!
Task 3: Create your own Grid Map of your room, and show the coordinates of certain pieces of furniture.
Once you have completed, double check your work and submit to your teacher by email or class dojo.

The Game

Activity description/steps:
Read the text once to yourself.
Using a video camera, record yourself reading the entire story for the second time. Then upload the video to the class dojo, or by emailing your classroom teacher.
You may complete the following questions in written form, or a video recording of yourself presenting your responses.
Questions to complete:
Where do you think the setting of the poem takes place? There are a number of clues. Explain your answer in detail. (40-60 Words)
Create a list of detailed and descriptive sentences from the poem, that included parts of the body or face.Think about how you could organise these tidily and logically.
This poem is very visually descriptive. This means it is easy to picture what is happening in your head while reading or listening to the story. Can you illustrate this poem in one picture, and include all of the specific details?
Check you have your recorded video of yourself reading as well as your 3 follow up tasks send to your teacher via email or on class dojo.

Rewrite a narrative/story and follow the writing process (Publish)
How can I make sure I am successful?
Rewrite a story using keywords and ideas and know/follow the parts of the writing process
Activity description/steps:
1.Show a family member your DRAFT WRITING from yesterday and ask them if they can see any EDITING mistakes you missed.
1.Using your DRAFT WRITING that you and your family member have EDITED, PUBLISH your story onto good lined paper.
2.When we PUBLISH it means we do not miss lines, this must be your best handwriting and your neatest presentation. So make sure you have organised paragraphs and all of your wonderful EDITING is copied.

Activity description/steps:
Look at the image closely and begin a brainstorm to create a narrative piece.
Begin a plan using this template which includes all features of a narrative. Writing Templates .pdf
The writing template is a small part that will help you prepare for a larger amount of writing with detail and description.
Once you are happy with your plan, begin writing your narrative piece including punctuation and paragraphs.
Check that you are following your plan as you write, this will include proof reading to yourself.
Use your plan as a checklist - once you have completed this. Proof-read and edit.
Share your edited version with your teacher. There is no publishing required for this activity.
