What am I learning?
*to add and subtract numbers
*to work with decimals
*to fit a budget
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I have spent under $100
*I have correctly added the costs of the different items together
Activity description/steps:
Imagine you are in charge of the families grocery shopping for this week. Write a list of all the essential items that you would have to get.
Use the Countdown NZ Shop Online Website to look up how much these items cost. (You may like to record this on a Google Sheet).
Refine / cut things off your list if you need to to make sure you don’t spend over $100.
Upload your shopping list along with the costs to your Class Dojo Portfolio.
Extras for early finishers:
Look up the cost of these same items on the Pak N Save Online Shopping Website. Would you save money if you shopped at Pak n Save or Countdown. How much would you save? Which items are cheaper at which store. Write a couple of sentences below your cost comparison to tell your teacher which shop you’d recommend they shop at and why.

*I will video myself performing my dance.
Activity description/steps:
Warm Up your body by following along with this Just Dance.
Below are some ideas for dances from other cultures you could learn and perform.
Pick one you’d like to try and learn that dance
When you’ve practised your dance, film yourself and send it in to your class teacher.
Extras for early finishers:
Do some research on one of the dances from the list (Salsa, African, Samoan Dance, Kapa Haka) OR select a dance from your own culture.
Here are some questions for you to think about, research and answer;
*Why is this dance important to this culture?
*When do people usually perform this dance?
* Do they have traditional costumes they wear when dancing?
Come up with some more questions of your own! You might be able to ask an adult in your house what they know.
Create a poster in Canva, Google Docs or use a piece of paper to share what you’ve learned about this form of dance.
Scene Creator
What am I learning?
*to create a scene
How can I make sure I am successful?
*I have worked with my family
*We have created different scenes
Activity description/steps:
Play this game with your whānau. You can be split into two teams and play against each other, or have one person calling and the rest playing.
In this game, your team silently creates an environment within 30 seconds. The players in your team can be objects, characters, weather, etc. You choose the scene that you create.
The lead caller or the other team then calls out the name of a place such as ‘the beach.’ The players then have ten seconds to make that environment without speaking. The lead player may count backward from ten to one aloud as the actors get into place.
Take a photo or video of your whānau playing the game and let your teacher know how it went.
Extras for early finishers:
Use Sketchpad to draw one of the scenes you created with your whānau. Send the drawing to your teacher or upload it to your Class Dojo Portfolio.
