You will be assessed on your process work in your diary following the Design Process.
Your task is to create or respond to a design brief.
Your document will outline the client needs & context, target audience, constraints and additional considerations for the project and include evidence of your process and as well as final designs.
You could use your Design Brief from your Exam (with modifications as required or feedback from your teacher on how to improve it)
OR
You will choose from two briefs that outline branding packages required for a social justice campaign. You will consider the audience, design and, branding needs to promote the messages required of your chosen client.
Social Justice Design Campaign
Weighting 30%
Due Week 15 November 12
You will be assessed on the Presentation formats you create for your client. That could include a logo, the front page of a website, 2 x posters, social media graphics, and branded merchandise. You must create at least three different presentation formats.
The quality of your design solutions
The creativity of your designs and if they meet the client's brief
Use of graphic design tools (Adobe suite, etc).
Integration of Art Elements and Design Principles
Communication of ideas across a range of presentation formats for a specific target audience.
Social Justice Design Process
Weighting 20%
Due Week 16 Monday November 18
It is highly recommended you use a visual diary to document this process. You can then scan those pages to your Google Site.
You will be assessed on your process work in your diary following the Design Process.
A Design Brief (your own or one of the two provided) with annotations
Research x 2 pages minimum
Idea Generation x 2 pages minimum
Development of Concept x 2 pages minimum
Refinement x 2 pages minimum
Final Reflection (1 page minimum)
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Awareness of ethical and sustainable use of technologies
Use of annotations to explain design thinking and referencing Art Elements and Design Principles
Evaluation of prototypes and improvements
Reflection on own and others' thinking; planning and time management; and impact of technology in social, cultural, and environmental contexts
