Wednesday Week 15
analyse how meaning is communicated in examples of photography
analyse how forms, styles and conventions are used to communicate through Photography
conduct Creative Inquiry into a range of issues
In Part A of your personal project, you have developed a plan for a photo series that is inspired by an artist or photographer and one of the photographic areas studied in Q3 (Art, Technology, Culture & Money).
You must now develop your final series which will do one of the following:
Recreate your inspirational artist / photographers work but bring some form of new meaning in your recreation as you develop it for a different audience.
Take inspiration from your artist / photographers work but develop your own idea related to their work and the Photography area you have chosen.
Your final photo series should be five individual photos or at least three final images where two or more photographs have contributed to the final result (example movie poster or advertisement).
Your photo series should be displayed on your Google site.
You should develop an artist statement to accompany your final series.
Reflect on your practise and process
Explore the meaning behind your final series
Evaluate how you achieved or did not achieve your intentions and what you succeeded at and would improve on
You can find guidance on producing an artist statement here.
You may create your artist statement using voice recordings if desired. APA references must still be written.
Note: Because you had an in-depth plan for this task, you have already covered many elements of an artist statement. The most important part is to do the 'Process' and 'Evaluate' section.
How precisely you have used photographic techniques (such as camera settings, lighting and editing) to achieve desired results
How imaginatively you have interpreted meaning from your inspirational artist / photographer and applied this to your work
How you document your process, showing elements that lead to final photographic work (this includes plans, sketches, contact sheets, photos taken to develop ideas, before and after edits etc..)
Using the AIMME structure to develop a considered and technically proficient final series
Presenting your final series in a structured and cohesive manner
Reflecting with insight on your creative practice and process and evaluating challenges, successes and improvements
For extra information on how you will be marked, see the rubric provided on Google classroom.
